That covers the stock benchmark set.
Now for some overclocked results. I'll bypass all the but the best and most impressive scores :thumb:
Overclocked settings achieved so far with the 1005.020 bios with the stock retail amd cooler and no mods of anykind. 9800xt at stock on all but the dual overclocked 3dmark01se compare. Motherboard undervolts so i upped to 1.525v that gives 1.502v for all but the 270x9 compares that was set at 1.55v or 1.52v to rule out instability. Not a professional review just my testing with the new toys so not everythings scientific
Best results achieved so far 220x11 1:1, 270x9 5:6, 250x10 5:6.

Pic shows 270htt because 3dmark doesnt show anything over 200fsb.

The boards great with the new bios. on the 1003 bios that ships with the boards i couldnt get 3dmark runs at 240x10 at a 5/6 divider. since 240 with a divider wouldnt work it wouldnt pay to see where between 220 and 240 i crapped out. So if you get this board get the 1005.020 bios as it really kicks this board into high gear.
Enjoy

I don`t have an option in the BIOS for it...but at 255mhz fsb it must be or the HDD and FX5950u would be wacking out....wouldn`t it??

I've got an A8V coming this week with an FX53 and Corsair twinx3200 XL Pro
Should be interesting to see if the 1005.020 or 1005.021 Bios's fix the pci/agp lock problem.
When I do get mine, I'll post the results.
SilverBack7 :welcome: to the BE and we look forward to your results.

Thanks :thumb:
The system above is replacing an aging (j/k) SK8V, FX53, Corsair twinx3200 Re PT that was hit by lightening last Tuesday.
I had extremely good results with the SK8V and expect to have better ones with the A8V.
My earlier 3D Mark2001 score 27k plus (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7867262)
3DMark2003 10k+ (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=2589036)

I looked on my board it's serial number is 45MG0Lxxxx.
So it looks as if the board will have a PCI/AGP lock :)
The FX53 arrives on Friday, my ram will be here tomorrow.
So when I get the system up and running it should look like this:
939 FX 53
AV8 ver 1.02 "0L" serial
ATI X800 Pro
1 GB TwinX3200XL Pro 2,2,2,5
2 ( 37gb Raptors ) RAID 0 Promise 378 controller
2 ( 120gb Samsung SATA) RAID 0 VIA controller
NEC 8x DVD Burner
TEAC 52X CDRW
Antec 550 True Power PSU
DangerDen Maze4 CPU and GPU water cooling.

PCI/AGP lock works on mine (received last week) serial no. 45MGOJxxx, but only with the 1005.020 bios. The recent update from ASUS (1006) does not contain the lock feature in the BIOS, so I reverted.
Another interesting thing, when I go from 1003 to either the 1005.020 or the 1006 update, the BIOS no longer shows the memory summary settings before you enter the actual memory settings menu. Anyone else notice this?
Also, I got the Corsair XMS 1024 3200 XL and it DID NOT work with the board. I tried everything - but I know others have got it to work - GamePC.com has a review that got it working fine. I'm getting OCZ 3500 EB tomorrow and will perform and extensive test. The Corsairs are going back and I don't have the patience to retest new mem - plus, it helped when I figured out the Lock actually worked and the EB screams north of 450.
Going to turn up those OCZ EBs and I'll let everyone know how it goes.
This will be the setup:
3500+
A8V (running 1005.020)
1024 OCZ EB (will try and get to 500 at 3-3-2-5)
9800 Pro (X800 XT PE is on the way)
WD Raptor 74GB
(got a little $ to burn on this stuff ;) )

Quick update:
The OCZ 3500 EBs work! Finally :thumb: ...and the Corsair XMS 3200 XLs are going back - bad mem...bummer. That's ok however, since the AGP/PCI lock works I'm running the 3500 EBs @ 240MHz (480) @ 3-3-2-5. Sandra Buffered was over 6400.
Will do a full benchmark this weekend and post. Interested in seeing other results!

Anandtech reviews showed XMS3200XL won't oc'd any at all on s939 so yup OCZ EB :)

I'm not getting a super strong overclock, but I'm running 12*222 with a A64 3800 CPU and Corsair XMS 3200 XL pro, and I'm fine. I can run 11.5 * 232 fine also, memory 1:1 but I'd benchmark in memory bandwidth tests the same as 12 * 222, memory 1:1 so I left it there. Guess it depends on what they mean "won't OC at all".

I have a questiopn for you all. I have both the 1005.020 and the 105.021. I only tried the 1005.021 because I heard it was mosr estable and I just wanted to see if I culd get lucky with my A8V since the serial is 45MGO1XXXX which the lock when turned on causes this motherboard not to post at all. Has anyone found that the 1005.020 is more stable than the 1005.021 or should I just keep trying to get an RMA ut of Asus's tech department which seems to be clueless about everything and refer you to e-mailing the engineers in Taiwan? My FX-53 runs well on this board and I can't find a D8N NEO 2 Platinum for socket 939 anywhere. I've had this CPU up to 2700MHz at 1.5V and it runs great. I have Corsair PC4000Pro though and it's just a waste of the memory potential if I can't run it in sync with the CPU's FSB at 250.

RMA and at least get a later serial #.

OCZ 3700 Gold original DS is not working properly in my S939 Gigabyte, it's only seeing 128MB of a 256MB stick.
I posted in OCZ support section about this. :)
