Wanted to make a new rig :) ....considering the price to performance ratio.....
taking the dual core processors , i think the core 2 duos are way better than the AMDs X2s and the fx line of processors..
Considering the pricing , performance per watt , speeds , overclocking ability , temperatures..... Core 2 Duos are definitely a better and a SMARTER CHOICE..... :P
I was considering the ATHLON X2 5200+ for my new rig but looking at the TEST RESULTS , the CORE 2 DUO E6600 performs better by a great margin....
also the X2 s are highly priced comparing to the C2D
Don't u think AMD keeps on changing the sockets ...making it difficult for upgrading .... :(
Ur OPINIONS ???? Genuine ones :blush:

Core2 is the way to go man... At the risk of sounding like a fanboy, it's pretty much a given that you cant go wrong with the punch C2D packs for the price.. To go amd doesnt make much sense now, given that C2D for the most part owns performance across the board; unless you're specifically looking for functionality that going intel cannot offer; like OFFICIAL sli;
However if you're looking to save a buck, amd is in the midst of doing the price slash thing; you might be able to score a bargain.. but intel's own prices are pretty hard to beat, especially on low-midrange core.
This guy says intel.

What he said ^, as usual....:lol:
Unless you need a quadfather to keep you warm in winter...
Core 2 Duo is the better choice.

I think you pretty much answered your own question. Core2Duo FTW. :)
