XP will recognize drives of all sizes. And, it certainly will recognize one of 160gb, unless you have very old hardware, where there is a hardware limitation to the drive recognition. I have 9 hard drives on my main system, several of them 160gb drives, no problem.

You only can have problems in win 98 and above, no probs in win xp or 2k

XP will have to be SP1 to see the full size.
As long as you have SP1 in Win XP and your mobo supports drives over 137gb, you should be all set.
Now to install XP onto a drive that big...thats another story...youd need to partition/format the drive in XP SP1 and then install onto it....

I had a similar problem at first....I put in a new 250Gb hard drive in my computer and it only reckognized it as 125Gb or something. Then I installed SP1 and it detected it right!
