Here's (http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18928&highlight=eve+online) a little blurb on it from when I played. I have to confess I have plyed throught two seperate 14-day trials in the last year...I like the game...but it is just waaayy too deep for me. I could see myslef reeeally getting into all the backstories, culture, etc. of it all. If I had the time, I'd probably be putting a lot of it in on EVE.

Yeah I tried the trial version to, like joeMan said...
is just waaayy too deepNothing wrong with that if your into that kind of game. I did like it, but with 2 kids, a wife, and being co-owner of a roofing company, I found it hard to make more time for the game.

One of the things I really like about the game is that you get to listen to cool, ambient space music while you fly around space. It's a relaxing feeling...actaully it can get a little too relaxing because it makes me sleepy when I play. The graphics are pretty cool, and they are supposed to be getting a full makeover for DX10 - like a MAJOR facelift for the game.
And true to what Sir G said, another I like about is the same thing that keeps me from it...the depth of the whole universe that they offer for the consumer to immerse themselves in. It just takes a lot of time. Mor than your typical "log on for 10 minutes, or an hour..." or whatever...you seriously could devote like years to this game and I'm not kidding. Google it.

so been plating eve for awile now, has tons of killing buddies, TONS of Bada$$ ships a CARRIER!!!! (3 accounts and 60 million combined skill points) and just gotta say its the greatest game EVER! I would advise to buy an account thats at least a year or older cause skilling takes soooo long. But now that i have 1 and 1/2 years under by belt im having so much fun killing actual pll!, organizing operations, developing tactics, and making lots of new friends all the time.
Its just and awesome game =) and these links might help get you interested =)
eve has a free 14 day trail you can take =)

Been playing since beta, it is the main game that I play and the reason I built my last system here that you guys have already seen. Eve is one of the most visual MMO games out there and very fun. Yes it is time consuming but if you want to play something and treat it more like a hobby and not just another game then Eve might be the one for you.

Follow the tutorials and don't be afraid to ask questions. Lots of people will of course treat you like a NOOB but you know how that goes. PM me if you have any questions that you can't find an answer for.

Oh quit it with the Eve talk!!!... you might make me want to play again:lol:
I quit in 07'. I didn't quite cut it as a pirate. Its always been tempting to go back but I have a love hate relationship with Eve.
Love the games openness and visuals and people, hate the time sink it becomes (and so does my g/f :o)

A typical MMO only lasts a few years, so you should come back and play Eve while you can. Women on the other hand will be around forever, so you can easily pick up where you left off. Yea, that works for me or my wife. At first she hated Eve, now she likes it that I play so much, SHE gets to control the television then

I remember the feeling. Either get out while you can, or be prepared to lose a lot of hours at the computer... :o

I've been playing EVE Online since April 2004. My brother Tauvo got me sucked into the game after the premature demise of the MMORPG Earth & Beyond.
You've read that correctly! I've been playing the same game, non-stop... for FOUR + years! I think that speaks volumes about the game's depth. Although I do enjoy a good game of C&C 3, and soon StarCraft 2!
I even went so far as to finally get a 2nd account after 3 1/2 years into the game. I finally gave in from trying to do everything with one toon. Now my 2nd account toon helps me with the mundane tasks, like hauling cargo. That frees up my main toon to do other stuff.
I recently (thanks to Subsider's tip) picked myself up five RocketFish (a.k.a. rebadged Lan Li) Aluminum Towers at the local (and Buffalo - 55 miles away) Best Buy stores form prices ranging from $37.00 to $54.00 each. For some reason they were more expensive in Buffalo... go figure. I picked up one for Subsider, two for myself, and two for some friends (sometimes it pays to have a pickup truck).
I believe you can all guess what I'm going to be doing soon with two such cases! :mischeif:
