You have or have not seen the latest features at HWbot. Beside the global rankings, we have developped a new sort of competition, which will make the overclocking scene more interesting and competitive.

This pointing system is fantastic to compare overclockers to each other, while keeping it fun for those who can't afford the latest Q6700 + 1950 CF. Eg. you will recieve a rather low score for being in the top 10 of pcmark (because there isn't much competition), but you will get a huge amount of points when you start to get near the top 50 of superpi, as the competition is very fierce. Same goes for hardware achievements. Having the fastest matrox parhelia will not get you much credits, but having the fastest 7900GT will get you a lot.

If this system gets support for the community (and we are confident we do), we are going to organize contests based on hwboints. Untill then, please share your thoughts on how we can make it even better.

If you are interested in how we calculate these 'hwboints', here's the calculation. it's still open for discussion. :)

hwboints = global points + hardware points

* global points (top 5): (50,40,35,30,25 * application weight) * 0.6
* global points (other): ((-20/145) * your rank + (600/29) * application weight) * 0.6
* hardware points (top 5): (5,4...1 * hardware weight) * 2

application weigth: 0.5 (<500 participants) - 2 (2000 or more participants)

hardware weigth: 0.2 (1 participant) - 1 (100 or more participants)

Many thanks to mtzki, who's the intelectual father of hwboints. I'm just the grunt who coded it.

All the info you'll ever need about hwboints can be found here (http://www.hwbot.org/hwbot.post.do?postId=38)

The Hwboints ranking is divided in two sections: one for members (http://www.hwbot.org/members.hall.of.fame.do), which is currently dominated by (who else?) ... k|ngp|n, and one for teams (http://www.hwbot.org/hallOfFame.do?type=team&applicationId=all), dominated by XS.

Current team ranking:

Thanks for joining. :)

You guys might be interested in the new signature engine. It generates a signature on request with your latest benchmark achievements:

The signature engine allows you to create a signature with you personal info embedded, like your user info (points, awards, world records, ...) and team info (points, ranking, ...). It's completely configurable, nothing is hardcoded, so you can choose your own background, font/size/style, which info to display and where, ...

If you want to try it out, go to your hwbot user profile and you'll find the code you'll have to copy&paste into your forum user profile.

Functionality to create custom templates will be released soon. My signature is the default hwbot template.

known issues:
- verdana bold font not installed on server, the users nickname/team & points are not in the correct font atm.
- caching not up and running yet. currently it's generated at request, but this will put too much load on the server if it gets popular. It may load slowly untill the caching system is put into place.
- transparancy issues with global trophies (they're a bit larger than the hw trophies)
- signature will if your ranking never has been calculated before, which happens every 6h

The last 2 bugs will be fixed at 6PM +1GMT.
