hi ;

Does anyone know if the Chieftec Dragon Maxitower DA-01B-D is a good case ; this case is delivered with a 360w powersupply but i would change this to something larger because it will have to deal with a nvidia 6800 ultra.
So what do you think of the combination of this case with a powersupply like the enermax VH 650 or 550 , enermax coolergiant 600.

Or are their other sujestions on brand of case and powersupply?

Greets :-)

If you're not going to lans and going to move it to often it it's a awesome case. As it weighs 17kg without anything in it except for a psu. With adding the rest of the equipment for a computer you're easy up to 30kg. It's easy to work with inside it. Even though I dunno why you need such a big case. If you've loads of harddrives and optical drives, sure otherwise I would suggest you go for something a bit smalle. Maybe a Lian-Li PC60. :D

Well i have 4 UW SCSI drives ; dvd rom ; cd writer ; cd rom ; zipdrive and other regular stuff to fill it with (with a large amount of cables...) ; and no i m not planning on moving it.The only thing that i m affraid of with this case is the amount of sound and heat due to the bigger powersupply i 'll use and the extra air flow that i think that will be needed (in this case you can place on the front side 3 x 80 mm fans and on the rear side 2 x 80 mm and 1 x 90 mm)
The black case hasn't got the side fan that the coloured cases have but i dunno how important this side fan is.

Well, for the side fan it can be good but also bad, for more sound. There's quiet fans out there. Then just get rid of the metal infront of the fans. Then you should be rocking. :D Hm, I got the smaller brother of the case you're looking at. It's easy to mod in a 120mm fan in the front and in the back where the 90mm fan should be so then you can get ride of atleast 2-3 80mm fans. :D

Then I think that ; if you done that to your case , then you have no heat problems and have an A+ for airflow.
What 's also good with chieftec cases is if i buy such a case and take an other powersupply that the standard 360 watt is credited :beer:

Cool. I didn't know that. :D Well, I don't have a 120mm blowing out but I got one blowing in. :) You should be happy with it. :D

My only concern would be the heat that those UW SCSI's generate and I would want to have a 120 or 90 blowing preferably over them or at the very minimum exhausting behind them, you might want to look at a modded Chenbro Genie for that rig...Check out this (http://www.coolcases.com) sight.
