View Full Version : CPUz 1.18c displays PAT enabled/disabled!

There is a CPUz 118c that was modified by the X86 guys (I think) to show if PAT is enabled/disabled. Get it HERE (http://forum.abit-usa.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=105895)
I tried it on my IC7 and it shows enabled even though I run 5:4. This would explain the big jump in performance I got going from 13 to 14 BIOS. Anyone else have results? http://forum.abit-usa.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=105978.
Why doesn't the IMG link work?? Oh well. Click on it

Dont know if the program is accurate. If it is, so much for the 1:1 and only 800+ FSB PAT theory. I think it was like that until Asus broke the code and now the BIOS' allow it under more conditions.

oldfart ~ i can tell from my performance, PAT IS ON :-)

northbridge strap still has a big effect on performance tho...

NB/s 800 = 15749
NB/s 667 = 16006
NB/s 533 = 16088

I use PSB800 with my P4C. Anything lower causes big stabilty problems. How is the PSB533 4:5 score? I guess that would be your best setup?

wrong!
are you kidding? 1:1 NBS533 is king
unless you know of some ram that can do 450dcddr cas222?
cause thats what it takes to beat 1:1.
<EDIT> the ic7 has much better memory bandwidth, but it cant go as far as a p4p800 cause its more aggressive (which i think is a good thing)
my ic7 @ 179fsb scores (3dm2k1 & aida) beat my p4p800 @ 184fsb

Makes sense. I never got to mess with it all that much when I had the 2.4B since my ram wont go there either. I thought yours might. My testing with the 2.4C shows that mem timings make a big difference on the IC7. Remember my 1:1 @ 2.5-3-3-7 Vs 5:4 @ 2-2-2-5 tests? Same performance. Fast timings really help.
What game accel mode are you running?

unlike the results i got from my p4p800 in my KHX review ~ this board cant run the same timings.
MOF where the p4p800 could run 425ddr c2-2-2 the ic7 can only run 414ddr c2.5-3-3!
the topper? the ic7 is still faster clock for clock

The whole mem thing on these boards is very odd. I'm running DDR412 @ 2-2-2-5 with the XMS 3200C2.

it could easily just be the 4:5 ratio on this board.
no matter how you slice it the ic7 is faster even with lower cas timings (for me) cause its a more aggressive board.
its mopping the floor with my p4p800 dispite the "Mem Game".

Looking forward to the review. It should be interesting. I think different boards have differences in performance when running the 5:4 ratio as well. The IC7 seems to be very good in this regard from what I can tell.
There is a lot of confusion on which board to buy right now especially after the 865 PAT/MAM thing started. It seems a quality 875 board like the IC7 is still the way to go. It would be nice to have a comparison to point people to who are trying to decide. Your config is very atypical though. Most people putting together a 865/875 rig will be using a P4C CPU.

3 way comparison will be posted later today.
