im wondering if placing heatsinks on the memory chips will void the warranty..i talking about not-so- big, plain aluminum heatsinks.
i have a side panel 80 mm fan blowing towards the radeon and yet the memory chips seem too hot to touch during gaming . my radeon isnt overclocked.
any inputs?

Sorry to be so blunt, but if I were you, I would just call or email ATI or whoever your card manufacturer is (I think it's Built by ATI by your profile). That is pretty much the only way you can find out for sure. Good luck. ;)

any inputs? any physical mod to any hardware will void warranty
I have used double-sided heatsink tape ( frag tape ) to attach mine. You can then carefully pry them off then remove the tape with a credit card, Goof Off then Isopropyl Alcohol gets the residue so ...how wil anyone know?.
Only need to do that if you have to RMA the card during the Warranty period.
At your own risk as always.
