Just a quick dirty test using EB 3500 to show why AMD should move now to ddr500/250fsb on the cpu.I tested with the AK89 max from AOpen with a 9800pro at stock speed with LDT set at 3 for 200x10 and 2.5 for 250x8.
Memory timings are 2.5-3-2-9 at 200fsb and 3-3-2-9 at 250fsb..final CPU clock speed is the same.

Now to 250fsb ;)

Well there you have it...simple move to 250fsb gains some nice speed and well worth the effort. No final difference in final CPU clock speed...just a faster bus speed.

Very nice Tony :thumb: Is there anyway for you to run a bench using a 5to4 at 250 i am kinda curious what the results would be?

I just have a simple question. How do you do the screenies? I mean what button do I have to push?

to take a screenie, click on the window such as the clockgen window or cpu-z window and hit alt+print screen.

that's it.

or hit print screen and it'll take a picture of your whole desktop

Nice work Tony. Makes me wish I didn't cancel my A64 build.... Alas, my car repairs are more important...

hey tony, what would the Sisoft bandwidth increase look like, could you do a compare of 200mhz and 250mhz bandwidth for us.

btw, any idea what kind of benifit we'd see from 250mhz on a s939 plateform?

I respectfully submit that a 2% gain in 3Dmock is insignificant, and certainly not worth the effort and expense the OEMs would undertake moving to 500DDR/250HTT as a standard config.

It is nice to see this forum isn't as dead as it used to be though, and that there are still some AMD peeps over here :thumb:
