A Client of mine wants a Gaming system....A Bad Azz fast one as he told me.
So I hope I am not going to disappoint:

Since we need CPU speed...I am going to overclock it for him...but nothing too aggressive, since he is not into all this stuff and I don't want to hear from him every other day saying..."this thing is crashing".
I would have made him buy an FX, so I didn't have to OC...but this already was a pretty steep setup...I told him the "bang for the buck" thing to do was to OC.
Before you ask me...its a CCB1E 0609FPBW...straight off the shelf at the Egg...didn't ask for anything....just ordered it.
If I have time...I think I will run a few benchies with it :mischeif: :deviltail :chit:
Looks like 3Mhz should be doable there. :mischeif:
What's your plans for the video cards?? :deviltail
Edit: 4 sticks of ram??

Looks like 3Mhz should be doable there. Man I hope it boots up faster than that    :hide:
I probably won't touch the vid cards....he has already called me every day this week asking when he can have it....the stuff just got here about 5:00 tonight.
I finally put my foot down today and told him that he will get it when I call him and say its done.
EDIT: 3GB's (didn't want to mess with the 4GB and XP issues) Yes he will be running 2T...but he does a lot of photoshop work as well, besides gaming...so he will put it to good use.
OK, OK, 3k Mhz :o
Photoshop...that makes sense.
Tough thread.

Nice setup with lots o potential when customer becomes familiar with the tricks of the trade - what's the hard drive combo size and brand - where's the floppy or u going Rally ?
Building one also as we speak for a friend - but nothing high end sadly...

Might want to run those 7900s through a few runs of DeepFreeze in 3dMark06 once you get it up and running. There's tons of issues(tearing, artifacts, flashing screens) with the 7900s and this test usually shows the problems immediately. I've been through 4 bad ones myself with my fairly high-end machine, and I'm not alone. Head on over to the evga forums if you need confirmation. Good luck.

Took a break for a few, while I see how the ram clocks :D
Here is the case, Thermaltake swing or something...He didn't want a window or anything fancy, pretty nice construction, no tools required for any of the drives or anything...but it wouldn't suit me for my stuff.....Cost $60.00 with no PSU.

Here it is with the mobo in...easy to be neat at this stage

Now...once you get here....not as easy (for me, plus I don't want it to take ALL day) to be neat....these GXS PSU's have so much cabling, these small cases are hard to keep as clean as I would like it. This guy isn't going to care I don't think....he told me he probably won't even open the case...I said you damn well better every month and clean the dust out !!.
