Hello,
I recently upgraded my old computer with a new CPU (Athlon 64 3200) and a new motherboard (K8NGM2-L). Everything works great except my old HP printer will not print anything. The computer 'sees' the printer, knows it is connected, will send me a 'printer ready' message, and the printer even clicks and boops and whirs when I hit the 'print' button. But I immediately get an error window with the message, 'cannot print due to a system error'. My old printer still works fine on my laptop, I have re-loaded the printer driver a couple of times. I have never seen this before. Does any one have a suggestion?

Thank you,

CJ

Can you print the "Test Page" ?

Do you use the same cable for your PC and Laptop ? (USB or LPT1)

Is there something sharing the printer port ?

If there is a older driver version than the one you are using try that one.

Make sure the right settings are in the BIOS to enable the port.

Print everything off your laptop.

Or buy a new printer unless it's laser you may want to keep that one.

Hope something there helps.
