Its summer now so things are running hotter....time to impelment my homemade W/C.
Its cost me nothing and only took an 1hr to put together. All it is,
1 Mini fridge/freezer
1 6ft lenth of soft copper
1 steel baking pan about 10"in x 14"in x 2 1/2 deep
and a little left-over 10mm vinyl tubing

All i did is neatly coiled the lenth of copper around and around the pan and stuck the end out the top horizontaly (bad spelling). then i set it in the freezer. and fill with water.

then i attached the outlet side from my exos 2 (pumps, rad, fans, resivior.) to one end of the coil, then from the other end of the coil the cpu first, then everthing else last, then back to my exos 2.

filled everthing back up, (primed it by jumping the atx). then checked for leaks, then pluged my mobo back in and fired der up.

Fan set to 1 on exos (1-10)

Before i was idling at 36 deg celcius

Now i idle at 25 deg celcius, AND THE FRIDGE WAS JUST TURNED ON

I ran a quick benchie, and what do you know, faster:)

So overall considering i built it for nothing im happy

I'm gonna play Oblivion for awile now so I'll get back with some full load temps:)

I cant seem to get the pics under 50K, whats the best way to post here? I could use alott of help here as i have never had to post screenies/ I don't even know ho to do that without having the file 500k

One way is to find a host for your pics then link the url (or use img tags) in the post. Uploadit is one place that offers free accounts up to a certain size and there are others that offer similar services.

It would be interesting to hear how long the system can stay at the same temp. Fridges are not designed to continually pull heat away. If it can't be used for day to day running then maybe just for benching.

Pics would be cool.

BTW the jpeg limit is 73kb (jpg is 50kb - not sure why)

Cheers

EDIT: I got that mixed up - 73kb is the limit for jpg files and 50kb for jpeg

I turned it off over night, because of heat, things still ran cooler becuause of the extra loop @ 30 deg cel. Then turned it on this morning and its down to 24 deg cel.

And youe right though, i will need a way to keep the frigde pump and coil cool to keep producing a chiller effect.

Also, (THIS IS HARD TO EXPLAIN, I'M GONNA TRY TO COMMPRESS SOME PICS LATER)
I'v changed it a little...The freezer is like a big...U...my resivor now cradles under it..so that can submerge my coil in with 1 1/2" water and push the resivor up so that the freezer and coil are submerged,

I'm thinking about going and visiting a A/c guy today to take a look at some pumps and other supplys,

Either im going to a small water cliller, Or phase change, the pump out of this fridge would be too small for my needs, but Im wondering about a finding a bigger freezer.

And bigger heat exchanger setup too

This is the fan on the back of the mini fridge to keep the motor and loop cool

The fan helped a whole lot..the freezer will run allot longer now. my system water temps are now down to 20 deg celcius...and droping..

If theres any other pics u wish me to take of something of intrest..let me know:)

This is CPU block temp@19 deg cel, and 3.3v actual voltage

Well, the fridge has been running for 3 hrs now non-stop..I checked the pump and the fin on the back and there cooler now, so ill keep the fan there so i can run the "chiller" non-stop(exept for when im not here) witch is how it will have to work if this is to be practical.

My cpu at idle is now 21 deg cel@1.500v, and my water is at 17 after the chiller and cpu block also. when the water leaves my pc its 21 deg cel

dude, thats awesome......i think u own =0 and i wanna do that!!!!!!!my next mod is 10 pelteriers around a 2liter enclosure for a mini fridge,2 liter will fit only with some sort of gel jacket to hold the cold that the pelteriers will chill.lmfo

I keep on learning....and it always gives more meaning to the name "just learning"

My setup not only cools my cpu and gpu but also videocard ram, My DDR Ram, mem control, and chipset.

lower temps are great for A64 CPU's and Gpu's for the most part, (down to minus -25 on A64 is a common max low stable running temp.

memory howerver slows down at lower temps, either my videocard mem or my ddr but im thinking videocard mem, or a cold bug but thinks were slowing down at 17 deg cel.
wicth doesnt seem like eneogh of a temp drop to affect the memory. so i'm happy with my current settings so saving for ss unit, and hvac licence:)

liquidcooled - LOL :rotflmao: Nice, but does the freezer have enought power to cool down the CPU on load when it run on load for say 10 hours? :p

Anyway, I find it hard to believe that some of your components don't like lower temps. I mean, come on, -17°C is nothing. How much you have then downclock to get stable video again? :suspect:

Sounds weird to me :bonk:

I'm sorry...this system has changed on a massive level, let me renew the pics!!
and thats what i like a little critisism. LOL and i would never downclock with a gun to my head LOL

this is inside my res at minus -22...belive it lol, but heat is always a factor, I have now added my video card to the loop too. I can hold -8 for hours on end while playing Quake 4 with dual cpu enabled of fear is also a favorite of mine. So i make sure that my over clocks can hold at -8 not -22 so that it doesnt crash after a few hours when it drops to -8
