Guys,

Just up on the NVidia Develpoers site.

http://developer.nvidia.com/object/sdk_home.html#NV40_Video_Clips

Note from the site:

Please note that the video clips were captured from live demos via a digital-to-analog scan converter and then recompressed. Although the voice-over explains the concepts behind each technique, colors and frame rates are not represented accurately and the effective resolution is reduced significantly

But they do looks awsome. . . . :thumb:

Those are beautiful captures, can't wait until both ATI and NV launch their next generation of cards, I'll have to mortgage my house to buy one, but this is the BleedinEdge :yikes:  :yikes:

The real fun is the new power requirements! Apparently it's been confirmed that both the NV40 and R420 will both have dual power plugs on the card. Even more interesting, is that it's also apparently confirmed that they will need seperate power rails per plug!

My PSU only _has_ 2 power rails, so I guess if I want a PCI version - I get a new PSU, of course - I could always go PCI Express and get a single-socket version =)

On top of that, the NV40 is also rumored (supposedly confirmed) to have specific power requirements that each rail to the card must not be used by any other devices, with the exception of a single fan..

Whilst I'm on the topic of rumors - ATi stated at one point, that they would be really happy if the R420 hit 10,000 in 3dmark 2003. This of course will likely have changed as what we originally knew as the R420 has been re-vamped and replaced with a more powerful architecture that they had planned to release later, in order to combat the NV40.

As for the NV40, a pre-production card recently (unconfirmed, Nvidia source) clocked in over 12k in 3dmark 2003, however with recent issues about more potential cheating, we don't know if these scores are real or not.

Either way, it's all rumor - we'll see for ourselves on the 26th =))
