Antec True Control 550 Watt PSU
I recently added an Antec True Control 550 Watt PSU and Front Control Panel to my main box to keep up with today’s hardware demands. Here’s a quick look at the installation and benefits of the upgrade for my Lian-Li PC65.
True Control 550 Retail Box
The PSU includes a 5.25” drive bay control panel with controls for the 3.3, 5, and 12 volt rails as well as fan control for 2 case fans. So it’s a simple matter to fire up your computer and dial in the 3 rails as desired, as well as controlling two case fan speeds.
Now I’m kind of partial to the look of my Lian Li case as I currently have it set up.

So I looked for an alternative to using the control bay as it was configured by Antec. I settled on removing the control board from the panel, drilling access holes and mounting the controls internally in my case. With the side window mounted on the case the controls are not visible, but remove the speed nut and the panel and you instantly have access to voltage and fan controls.
An added bonus to the 550 True Control install is I now have complete control of all four case fans in the PC65. The Lian Li case has a three speed switch for the two front mounted case intake fans. Add the two fan variable speed control of the Antec PSU and with the flick of a switch and the turn of a knob I can set my box up to be nearly silent or ready for gaming or benchmarking effortlessly. The Antec True Control was a painless upgrade and beneficial for my Lain Li case as well as providing all the power I should need in the furure.
That Lian Li case would fit perfectly over my new Vapo. Send it over to me :yup: :coocoo: :coocoo: :coocoo:
