Who has tried this yet, I mounted a case fan that has LED lights on it on top of my RAM sticks. The way I mounted mine was with Bulldog clips, then I used cord ties and bam, the modding looks cool. If anyone here wants to see what it looks like then I can take a picture, but that is if you guys are interested hehe.:p

You mean like this, minus the pretty lights.

Correct, but does that screw up the air flow in the rest of the case? My fan is closer to the ram chips, what is better real close or far away?

I'd like to see a pic. I have a spare 80mm Coolermaster fan that would be suitable for some active RAM cooling.

I kinda did a similar mod for a fan over the memory.... I just cut a piece of plexiglass 85mmx85mm, with 2 tabs so I could bolt it up to my waterblock mounting bolts. Cut out the middle where the fan could blow through, and bolted everything together. It sits just perfectly, about 1/4" in between the memory and the fan bracket. I can run non-stop Sandra mem benchies, and the memory never feels warm. My fan controller seldom reads over 25C, and thats on DDR600 dimms.

quick pics, chitty camera:

Its kinda hard to see the little bracket, it's made of 1/8" plexi. But, trust me it is there. :D Also, don't mind the wiring mess, it is still a work in progress.
