looking for a portable mp3 player. something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, its for exercising with, so i'm not interested in a video screens and fancy smancy features.........i want load music, hit play, and away i go.

i've been looking and i've found the ipod shuffle 512 for $65.00, anybody know of any contenders that will beat it?

anyone have any experience with the shuffle 512/1gig?

My only gripe with the shuffle is that it has no screen so you cant see what song is going to play next. I guess that is part of the whole marketing scheme but i just dont like it. My brother just got one of those sandisk 512mb players for $50 at compusa and it doesnt sound the nest (not the worst either though). I would have to say that those are the best value for the money right now.

Iriver T30

Iriver are simply the best MP3 Player. I had the IFP899 and now the U10. Unbeatable. Ipod is kiddystuff ^^

i'm not interested in kiddystuff/adult stuff comments, if Iriver is the best, why are they the best???????????

considering what i'm looking for it for, exercising..........(i'm not a kid and am not going to be carrying it around showing it off to my friends) the shuffle is a lot smaller, and 30 dollars cheaper than the iriver, iriver out...............and if sandisk doesn't sound that good......then sandisk out.

what about the creative zen nano, anyone play with one of those?

the more I read up on the shuffle, i'm not liking it............i don't like that I can't change the battery, and a lot of people are complaining about slow music transfer...........though it was reviewed as having some of the best sound.

Look around I know one member here as a Zen comment under his name can't recall who. And also seen help request I believe for Zen - hence could ask for feedback from them...

ure going on like a kiddy thats all :coocoo:

simply

much firmware upgrades with new functions ( in addition to the avaiable functions ) / bug fixes
high usability
very good soundprocessors, very good equalizers
high runtime ( like its printed on the paper, not like apple with there fake runtime )
stable cases with an Appropriately scratch-resistent surface
