Received the OCZ 3700 GOLD today and there is NOTHING in the world like this memory. 1:1 is effortless all the way to my 3.0 CPU limit of 248 - DDR496 - and I'm only at 2.65V. Also got the new FAST DFI 875PRO Lan Party BIOS with Fixed Overclocking today, so it was natural I would try them both together.
NEW RECORD on AIR Cooling for 3DMark2001SE with the 9800PRO

All the specs are in the Compare Link at http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=6617527
This is at 241 1:1, so I still have room to go even higher - I've already run 1:1 at 248.
A new record for 3DMark2001 should correlate with new Sandra records and it does.
DFI 875PRO at 980FSB(245), DDR490, 2.5-7-3-3 at 1.575 vCore and 2.7 vDimm - Buffered

Have completed even higher 1:1 results at 248, but I want to run a few benches. Will post those here a bit later.

I tried 2.5/3/2/7 at 2.65V and 2.75 vdimm and it was a no go at 500DDR.I did do 510DDR so far on 2.65V 2.5/3/3/7 though.Also 500DDR at 2.75V at 2/3/3/6 is a go.:)

Happy Bday Prom!
Yep 1:1 with decent timings will be the fastest. As long as you have a high multiplier CPU like a 3.0 and some very high end ram, you can do that. Still not much of an option for people with 2.4 and 2.6C chips.

Something is wrong. My buffered scores went from 5710/5799 to 3354/3354.I went back to bios 1008.003 from 1008.004.Both are giving me trouble, hmmm.

I was running on one stick.I have a defective stick of ram.I was wondering why everything read 256MB of total ram.PC Wizard 2003 shows you the slots A1,A2,B1,B2 and it had A1 empty which I had one stick in.Sure enough I pulled the stick in B1 and the Computer never booted.I replaced the one in A1 with B1 and the Computer fired up.Arghhhh.

There is NO positive side, LastRide, but you DID prove Dual-Channel relly DOES make a difference ;)

LOL.Yep,dual channel is not fake:).What really sucks is I bought OCZ PC3500EL DC kit a few months back and had a defective stick and the other wouldn't do spec.OCZ needs better quality control.I have read many complaints about bad sticks. The one stick kicks @ss though, hehe.:D

can you buy 1 stick of the 3700 gold? or do you have to buy two sticks?
and if so, where can i find 1 stick? :)

You can only buy it in 256MB dual channel kits as of now.

that blows!!!
:)
$215 is a bit much for a stick of ram
and what's up with amd boards and not being able to handle more than like 220ish mhz on the fsb when these stinkin intel boards are doing over 250 with no sweat...
man... can't wait to get a p4 setup and give up on this amd junk!!!
i mean... uhh... they need to get better boards with better vdd options... ugh...
anyone have a spare $500 i can spend for a p4 setup?

If you have a problem with any OCZ product i would contact customer support. In my conversations with Ryan he always stresses that he want the best customer support as that is what brings customers back...give them a call or send a mail to them.

I just sent to back to the place I bought it from. They sent a new stick out today.I went through OCZ the first time with the 3500.They were very good and even give me a couple accessories for the trouble.I live in Canada so its nice not having to shipp to California and the waiting game begins. Here is what the guy said from the place I bought it from said what happened.
"The SPD chip which stores the timings was broken off. The clam shells are too large so the DIMM rattles around and very rarely this happens. Fortunately however there is new packaging now which should prevent this from happening. "
