Just dropped by Crucial and saw that the 512MB PC3200 sticks that they were selling for just $84.99 a month or so ago...

...now that exact same stick is $112.99!!

probably more boards with PC3200 support coming out from both Intel and AMD is driving up prices

I believe I heard that RAM prices are increasing due to a nut case that is spending more money on hard drives than on RAM. The lack of demand has affected the price. ;)

I guess they're gonna milk as much as they can out of DDR cause the closer we get to DDR2 with decent latencies and higher FSBs the cheaper DDR will become :mischeif:

This latest Jump is the rider that broke the Camels back!!! I cannot believe only a few months ago my friend bought Mushkin PC3500 lvl1 1gig for 203 dollars and it is now up in the stratosphere! I am waiting and hoping to have some relief soon or I shall never be able to finish building my computer. :hide:

Does anyone know when the release for DDR2 is? Hopefully then the atrocious price hike will cease and desist and we can get memory for decent prices again. :help:
