what sound card are you using?
and how do you have your logitechs hooked up (i don't have that particular series) is it individual channels or are you using a digitial cable?

I have an onboard audio with 6.1 surround sound codecc, my motherboard also came with a coax plug on the back of it. I plug the coax card that I bought from the back of the logitech coax connection, then I plug the other end to the coax plug to the back of my mobo. I set the input to coax and all I see when I switch effects is stereo, stereo x2, the dolby movie and music feature. I am out of ideas, what can I do to get this to work or is this normal?

Have you tried the stereo x2 setting?

Yes, but when I do that it just uses all the speakers, I do not think it uses the 5.1 surround sound codecc? When I do the 5.1 test on my PC, the sound only comes from the 2 front speakers and no rear or center or sub, now this is confusing.

Thanx Roterhead, I went to the url you told me to go and I read it and I see that the coax feature does not support 5.1 surround sound on my onboard audio right? I went to the url that he suggested to go to and if I have to spend more money on another cord then this is dumb. The coax plug is not connected to the back of my DVD player, if there is a way to get the 5.1 surround sound to go for my pc SOMEONE COME OUT AND TELL ME:D hehe:thumbs: .

I don't get the problems with the digital connection, its not like its new technology, its been used for years in home audio.............

kev, you should be able to get your surround sound by using the individual cables from your logitechs and hooking up that way

That's the way I did it now, but I was told that if you used Coaxial it is more clear. I am able to use 5.1 surround sound now because I am using the cord that came with the speakers:) :p

digital line on a pc to pc typed speakers is overkill, you won't notice enough of a difference to justify the excess cost for the cable.
but yes the digital is more clear, on high end audio equipment.
regardless, you at least now have your surround and thats all that matters.

I am running the Creative Inspire 5.1 digital 5700 from my Audigy connected via the digital link........However the Inspire 5.1 does the processing into surround.
