I made an impulse buy on eBay  (surprise huh?), I got a Winstch Labs 437w qmax TEC unit (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6844246742&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3APIC&rd=1) for what seems a really good price. The problem is I though I could find a 24 V PSU... which I can't. At least not an ATX one. I have found a Mean Well SE-600-24. I had hoped that a TEC would be a cheap addition to my cooling, but :D :suspect: :coocoo: that was one of my dumber ideas for the day.

I guess my question is, is there a PSU with a 24 volt rail? Or do I get the Mean Well? I can find the SE-600 for about $170.

On a side note, which could be put in the cooling section, how much of a pain in the rear is this going to be to install:?: :D :bonk: :hide:

you might be able to combine two psu's to give you 24v, i dont know much else about TEC's though

There are power supplies built specifically to provide 24v. I they can be had at a few places. One place that comes to mind is www.swiftnets.com. Stroll through the Thermoelectric Cooling menu. I have heard that running high output TECs at lower voltage works well.

Cheers

Thanx, the one @ swiftnets is only 12 volts. It looks like a mean well anyways. It cost $145 I think and the one I'm looking @ it 24 volts and it only cost $170. I think I'm going to have to brake down and get that one. :chit:

i think its a wise move considering how much the TEC pad costs, and the chip underneath it too!
