i brought 2 off these for myself and friend and clocked them both to 450/385 without problems. i did however reapplied the thermal compund with arctic silver 5.

What steps did you take to remove the cooler...and apply the compound?

simply remove the 2 screws from the blue thingy that secures the arctic cooler onto the card and the carefully lift up the cooler, then clean the goop from the GPU and apply a dab of AS5 and use a flat piece of card to smooth it out and then replace the arctic cooler :)
