Here is what I want to do.......

My son has his XBox connected to his PC so he can mod and edit games. Its connected via an RJ45 cross over cable. He also has a linksys USB adapter connected to the PC, which is his primary internet connection.

Can I some how get the XBox connected to the internet by routing it through the PC?

And if so, any tips on how to do it would be great.

You could share the internet connection on the PC....but....I think this would be easier:

1. Connect a network cable to your network (switch) from the Xbox. (regular cable...not crossover)

2. Power up the Xbox.....go to Xbox Live from the main menu.

3. It will Try and Auto detect for a moment and come up with nothing...go to settings.

4. Go to PPPoE connection first and disable.

5. Then you can go to IP and configure manually or set it a static IP on your network.

6. Once configured it might run some updates etc (the one here did)

7. Voila...your Xbox is now on your network to play Xbox Live, etc...you can telnet to its IP....the password should be xbox (lower case..I think)

Hope that helps :)

EDIT: The more that I think about it....maybe this is what you wanted to avoid......You should be able to share the internet connection of the PC that the Xbox is connected to so the Xbox can get to the Internet through the PC.....haven't shared a connection like that in a while though so I am a little rusty on the exact procedure....will post back if I find info :)
