After i put this machine together,
P4C800-e dlx, 3.0, 1 gig OCZ 3500 Platinum ltd edt, 2 raptors, 9800 Pro
I was very happy with the performance vs my old p3 1 gig. The noise the machine made was unbelievable. I could hear it from the other room and it was extremely annoying. Off to the computer store one more time. I bought a Zalman 7000 CU cooler, 4 stealth fans, and a Sapphire Radeon 9600XT Ultimate (Zalman heat pipe system) and now have a computer I can live with. I sold my 9800 Pro for $300 CAN and once I got home realized that I had only paid $202 for the Sapphire. Yes, it isn't the fastest card out there, but it is damn quiet. It can run at 525 and 324 all day long and reaches a temp of 55 celsius. A very nice card. Next replacement is the Raptors. They are the loudest thing in this machine. I guess I got caught up in the mass hype of speed and lost site of what is important. A computer you can live with.
