Does your CPU support 64 bit, the name of the CPU does not show it does support 64 bit. I can see you have a dual CPU, but I am not sure if it will support 64 bit, I can be wrong, but I am not sure. I am not up to date with these new CPU's, I have been slacking off for awhile now hehe.:beat:

Look here (http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14987&highlight=x64) for some insight on x64 before you move forward. Be sure to look at the links in that thread too because they give you more extensive info/insight to help in your deciding.

To summarize, 64-bit XP rocks but there are not 100% support for it yet in the area of device drivers. Also, some apps/progs/utilities just refuse to run under it while others run with occasional error messages, and then some run flawlessly. It's still a bit of a grey area as far as just transitioning straight over and picking up where you left off with 32-bit XP.

Personally, I learned the hard way by just charging forward into x64 after my last rebuild, only to become frustrated because Canon has no 64-bit support for the MP700. also at the time there were no X-Fi 64-bit drivers (there are now), and as I mentioned a lot of my creature comforts just didn't work right in the 64-bit environment. So I bailed and am happily back in the 32-bit XP Pro, but eagarly awaiting the earliest that I can comfortably move back over and stay over for good.

Just my $.02.

Good luck
