Well there is a power switch in the back of the subwoofer, is it safe to turn off the switch all the time after I am done with the speakers? I am just worried, because if the subwoofer's hardware is like computer parts, then turning it on and off is not healthy.

Kev, off topic but posting this here for you and others, IMPORTANT.
I followed your previous link and sadly only with one eye did not realize you were going out and buying this. ( I am planning on buying the same as soon as my JBL system is sold on ebay)
Important why?. Simple, how about getting $223.00 CDN + back from you purchase? Sounds interesting? Here is the deal, you got kind of screwed when you bought from bestby.ca, but there is a way to get your money back:
Here is how, bestby and many others have what is called a Price Match policy or if you want lowest price guaranteed . Hopefully still time for you to use that policy if you act quick:
here is the policy:
http://www.bestbuy.ca/helpsection/documents/policies.asp?policiesID=1&logon=&langid=EN
Here is the price that bestbuy needs to match, print this for proof that the item is in stock at Tiger Canada
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1068250&Sku=L23-6334&SRCCODE=PRICECAN&CMP=OTC-PRICECANADA
Now go armed with that to them, and you should get a refund of roughly $223.00 dollars canadian, act very quickly YOU must be within the 30 day period.
I'm playing futurshop as we speak..see what they do.

I simply leave my JBL on all the time it goes to sleep by itself, not sure about this set of speaker but i would assume a simila function is available. Look if it says it is ENERGY STAR compliant, if so it sleeps when not in use.

He is saying you need to go check out the site and get Bestbuy to match the price....you could get money back :)

Like Ryder said, instead of paying $499.99 for this great sound system you will pay $276.99. Get your parents to help you understand Price Matching in Canada and help you get the refund, once you got it send me a chunk of it, I need money to buy a new set of speakers!:deviltail
Just ordered mine from futurshop, see if they will match it. Not taking any changes on letting this good deal go by. $279.99 CDN for this unit, when average is $375.00+ on Canadian web sites, and logitech canada still has it listed at $539.00
Hey people if you are into some spare change and in need of speakers....this might be an opportunity for early Xmas shopping...

I just came across something and this something is real weird. My speakers is far away from this light switch, when I turn the light switch on and off my speakers makes a noise. Is this a magnetic interference, or is there something wrong wif my speakers already and is there a way to fix this?

Kev, that is probably because the lighting in you room is on the same circuit that the wall plugs are on. The light switch is causing a surge in the AC power line and the amp for the speakers is picking it up. A couple of things to try would be, plug the speakers into a different outlet, try a surge protector, or plug the speakers into an UPs.

Thank you so much Rotor for the response, if you can please post a picture of the product I should purchase to fix this popping noise. Also would this popping noise damage the speakers at all? The thing is that is weird, the light switch is making the popping noise on my speakers; however, the light switch is outside of my room so I am confused. .

Oh my god, now when I turn off my control thingy that came with the speakers and then tunr it back on the center speaker makes a pop noise, I dont get this at all. Is this popping noise when I turn off the light switch then turn it on be the problem, cause now I am getting a pop noise when I turn on the control thingy for my logitech speakers. :beat:

Kev, I don't think that the popping will damage the speakers, just make sure you dont have the volume turned way up when it happens.
Something like this might do the trick.

Also, I just thought of something else......Is the light switch also controlling one of the wall sockets, you know, so you can plug in a lamp and have it work off the switch?

Thanks Roter for the info, the popping noise happens kinda loud not that loud, but you can hear the popping lets just say that. I just called Logitech, they said that the popping may be the light switch that's outside of my room. He said that the light switch is giving the speakers a radio signal, and this light switch has to be replaced because it can cause a fire.

They are correct. Any time you have a spark from an electrical system it actually produces a radio signal. With the AC system in your home you are probably getting a signal of 60Hz, which the electrical circuit in the speaker system picked it up and amplified it then sent through your speakers.
As for the switch being a fire hazard, this is something you may want to have checked out by a qualified electrician. They would be in a better position to give advice on this matter.

I ain't going to touch any electrical stuff, my dad knows all that stuff he does it for his job. My dad is aware of the problem, but what he doesn't know is that the logitech people said we should replace it because it can cause a fire. I will replace this switch as soon as possible and report back here to say if that switch fixed the problem.

Ya, let the old man change the switch out and see what happens. If that doesn't work, try a good quality surge protector (not one of those cheepo ones from the corner store) Then if it still does it, try an UPS (uninterrupted power supply)
Depending on how old you house is, it is quite possible that the switches could cause this problem. The actual mechanism in the switch may not make good contact or may not have a smooth action.

Also one more question, I know this thread is probleying getting annoying lol. The question is how loud can I set my subwoofer + speaker before it goes to a danger volumel, like blowing a fuse or ruining the speakers.

Also one more question, I know this threat is probleying getting annoying lol. The question is how loud can I set my subwoofer + speaker before it goes to a danger volumel, like blowing a fuse or ruining the speakers. If you hear any distortion at all Kev...like fuzzy high notes or "muddy" bass notes...what I mean is if either of those don't sound clear and clean to your ears...then you probably have the volume to high...or the subwoofer turned up to far for the volume level you are at.
I like to leave the subwoofer off or turned way down...then turn up the volume until I just hear some distortion in the speakers.....that means I can't go any higher with the volume...or the Mid / High range will distort which can cause speaker damage.
Then raise the subwoofer level until it starts to distort and then back off a bit...now you are at the max volume for everything (and probably the end of your parents patience ;) ) So you can note where the knobs are and not go above that....then just adjust down from there to a nice listening level :)
Hope that helps.
