Was wondering since I am the only one using this pc, if it is possible to get rid of the silly login screen that comes up and you have to click the little icon to finish booting into windows? Alot of times I will need to reboot and don't want to have to sit at the pc to click that stupid icon.

I noticed on a clean single user install, you don't get the login screen (unless you set a password I guess which I never do so I don't know) I installed the .net framework at one point a few reformats ago and after the reboot I then had the logon screen with just one user. I think what happened in that case was that the .net frameword installs a user account that .net runs as, I'm not sure if I'm wording this correctly but, it seems like windows prompts you with the logon screen when it thinks there is more than one user account on the system, though as I think was the case with the .net framework, there was another account but it was "special" and didn't show up as an option at the login screen, only the "real" user account did, but the logon screen appears anyway because of the multiple users. I know I'm not making much sense here, I have a blazing headache.
You could at least look through your user accounts and see if there are any that have been created by some software install and that maybe deleting them (if you don't need them) would help.
Sorry for being so incoherent

You can use a program called TweakUI by Microsoft to automatically log in a specified user at boot up. By using this program you can avoid the log in screen but still keep your computer protected with a password. The download can be found at this link http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
Hope that helps.
