Just wondering if any of you have experienced this: I have the following rig:

Asus P4C800-E
2.8C P4
1-Gig Mushkin PC3500 Level 2
2-Seagate 7200.7 120GB SATA Drives on ICH5R RAID 0
2- WD1000JB PATA drives as backup
Windows XP Pro SP-1A w/all current updates

My drives are excessively noisy for Seagate drives, but they function flawlessly except for one thing they are continually (well about every 20-30 seconds) being accessed. I've run the drives on both a RAID array and non-RAID and get the same thing. I've tried:

1. Run Adaware and Spybot for pests...nothing out of the ordinary.

2. Done a fresh install of Windows and software

3. Checked services running and systematically tried to eliminate ones that could cause this.

4. Checked Task Manager for service processor use and the only one that is high is System Idle Process which is perfectly normal.

My PATA drives never had this problem when I ran them on the same system...also I thought seagate drives were supposed to be quiet...Any ideas will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in Advance!

Unfortunately, this is normal for 7200.7's. See this thread (http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewtopic.php?t=8026).
