This thread is for anyone that noticed something strange or cool or funny while cruising Vice City and wants to let others know about it. You can also post general discussion about the game or share cool screens with us!

I'll start. Maybe alot of people already know about this, but I thought it was a nice touch to the game anyway. When driving a Voodoo (red/ looks like 64' Impala) you can use the helicopter forward and backward tilt keys (default numpad 6 and 9) to activate hydrolics! Numpad 4 makes the hydros activate on only one side so the car leans. Use em at the right time and your jumps/stunts can be greatly enhanced. Even if they have little or no use they are still hella cool (hella cool?) to watch.

This game just . As I get further into the game though i noticed that my save games can take like almost 5 minutes to load. It seemed to happen when I started futzing around with my card's display settings. Anyone else noticing this?

Right on man  This game rocks and rocks hard. My load times seem to stay pretty consistent, about 4 or 5 seconds every time. That is strange although maybe since you were tweaking your vidcard settings you bumped up the resolution or the draw distance or other quality settings that could make your computer load higher quality textures- which could explain the longer load times. What is your video card (Brand/Model) and your system specs? Did I mention this game rocks? :D

Sig updated with system components.

when i load a save game, the load screen comes up for all of 2 seconds but then I get this black screen for a long time. I guess the pause could be from textures being decompressed. will try lower texture details.

turns out the pause is from having the high mipmap detail setting. it now loads up almost immediately!! thanks for the tip. So far my favorite mission has to be Phnom Pen 86. It was a sight to behold when i first played through it. just awesome.

This game also responds well to overclocked CPUs. I noticed that the framerate jumped up significantly when overclocking.

Glad you got your framerate issues figured out! Probably makes the game just that much more enjoyable. And the game is VERY power hungry so overclocking of the CPU/Vid Card can work wonders for framerates. I have the frame limiter on so my FPS are never over 30, but with my 9800 Pro, they are never UNDER 30 FPS either :) I love running the game at 1600x1200 with draw distance maxed out and 16x ansio/6x anti-aliasing! Screenshots are beautiful and gameplay is flawless. I am sure oyu get similar results on your 9700 Pro. Phnome Phen '86 is a truly brilliant mission. Who needs BlackHawk Down when you got Tommy Vercetti on a Maverick Helicopter with a .50 [27mm] caliber machine gun?
