I converted some mpeg2 captured tv programs with Leadtek Winfast 2000XP Deluxe. How i converted them to smaller SVCD and DVD-R sized files on my pc. But when i try to delete the working files on the hard drive,

1. i get can not delete, program or app is using it.. even if i rebooted my pc ?

2. some files when i access the directly itself or click on the file in winxp pro sp1, the whole explorer.exe hangs and task manager sees 100% cpu usage. only way is to end the explorer task which 'not responding' and still to access the file it does it again ?

any ideas ?

system is

2.4B
P4G8X
4x 512MB XMS3200C2
4x 800JB (2x 800JB raid 0 OS)
2x 2000JB
WinXP PRO SP1

OK...I have tons of cpatured avi files I then encode into mpeg2 and I have had no issues opening them or deleting them afterwards...

Please explain exactly what you do and what apps you use.....

I run winxp home and I have that default string in my registry right now, but since I have no issue I am leaving it....

mainly it's the avi's resulting from using VirtualdubMod after loading mpegs in and editing them.

Not sure if the problem could also stem from the fact my partitions are all nearly 100% filled with less than 100-600MB of free disk space on every partition - hence need for new disks heh
