I have one of them cards and I have nothing good to actually see what speed I'm running. I used PC-Wizard 2003 and saw a whopping 2X. Can anyone tell me what I should use to make sure? I can get most anything

P-4 @ 2.4 533
Asus P4S8X
512 Corsair PC 2700 XMS Cas 2
WD Raptor sata 360

Thanks,

duhsquid , welcome to BE.

If you're looking for clock speeds on your graphics card Coolbits (http://www.overclockers.com.au/techstuff/a_coolbits/) will work great for Nvidia based cards.

Hi professor,

Actually the ASYLUM FX 5900 card is not posting 8X AGP, when ever I check. I do have some of the OC stuff, and looks like fun. Do you know of any software that tells ya it's AGP seed? Would like to get all the speed of the 8X bus.

Thanks for the reply

It's been a long time since I seen that board.

Two suggestions are:

Update the BIOS to 1004 or better

and

Install the latest AGP driver off the ASUS site or from SIS.

I was never able to test an 8X card in that board.

Hi Hawk,

Thanks for the reply. I have tried both and no results. Still haven't got a program to make sure that I'm running at the right speed. Someone suggested a Cleam install of Windows xp pro Sp1. My Windows might be messed up from so many attemps of installing many drivers/bios.

Thanks again,

duhsquid Welcome to BE

Try Aida32 (http://www.aida32.hu/aida32.php), it should show what the avalible settings are and the current setting. You will see it under >motherboard>chipset.

Hi Rotorhead,

Thanks for telling me about that program. Since my post, I have found PSTRIP and it showed I was in fact 8X? Hope I'm going 8X and not 2X.
I'm downloading now and will try it. Do you of PSTRIP? and how it might show the real.

Thanks much,

Duhsquid

I haven't really messed with PowerStrip.......hehe probably wouldn't help my poor GF3 :p :D

It should also show your current AGP settings. I think it gives you an option to force AGP to the setting you want, don't quote me on that though.

Hi ya Rortorhead,

Humm... Must have download the wrong version or something? Aida 32 personel didn't have nothing about AGP. Guess I will try the other two on that site. Nothing wrong with a G3 card, I gave my G1 away fon a trade. It had 32 meg single ram and did all the games at a lower res.

Bye for now,

Hey RotorHead,

My mistake.....sorry for the error

As always it takes me along time to look at everything, I found under
" CHIPSET " there is AGP info. No where I saw to change AGP speed though? I do now show 8X using AIDA32. Guess my problem has just gone away.

Thanks much for the utilitiy .....
