Hi

I just bought a new Power Supply from OCZ, the 420ADJ.

i followed all the instructions in the manual and i ajust de power to the performance of mij pc. everything is connected.

The problem is when i connect a flat-cable to my dvd-writer and dvd-romplayer, my pc freezes when he starts up and shows the screen DETECTING IDE DRIVES.

When that screen appears i cant even acces my BIOS.

Does anyone now what the problem could be??? and how to solve it.

I can`t solve it by the way i try to do everything :beat: :beat: :beat:

I wait for answers ;)

Greetz,

Lennaert

Hi,

you said "flat cable" , you mean the IDE PATA ribbon cable ( DATA Cable ) not the 4pin Molex from the PSU, right ?

If you mean the grey ( usually :D ) flat 40 pin cable ( wires might be 40 or 80 depending on type ) used to connect the motherboard with the drives, then you should check the jumpers on your drives.
The first drive ( which connects at the first connector of the cable )[ closer to motherboard ] must be set as "master" at jumpers.
The second drive should be set as "slave" ( jumpers again :D )
