damn, this must be the "Edgy Members" forum!:D

post edited to reflect that I have, in fact, splurged the extra rent money for a 2.6C and NOT a 2.4C;)

Erik...looking good...slight increase...

Are you going to do any Divx encoding or other video encoding???

I would like to see the effects of HT, high fsb and memory bandwidth on that performance.....

The 2.6c or 2.8c and DCDDR springdale looks my next road for upgrade...

LOL :rotflmao:

no, but the EDGY MOD wants to see the 2.4b p4p800 results :na:
(im getting my p4p800 later today)

Hate to nitpick, but since we are EDGY here...

13 x 260 = 3380 according to my calculator. 262 FSB??

hi Duvie:)

I'm benching 5fsb higher on the single-proc install (so far) than I did on the HT install; I'll run some benches, rip a DVD to a stop watch, and probably go back to HT when I'm done. To be honest, I've actually gotten caught back up in the MHz (or GHz;)) wars again, so I'm wondering if I oughtn't have gotten a 2.8 or 3.0 so that I could take advantage of 1:1 and PAT with HT enabled, and I've got some CH5 TwinMOS on the way. I've just recently gotten into ripping/duping DVDs and so the horsepower/HT will really be a help. Oh yeah, Half Life 2 is coming out soon, too;). . .

true, just sold my "old" 2.4B@3.4GHz combo:rock:

not satisfied with the overclockability of this cpu, just ordered another 2.6C and 2.4C, and some Buffalo PC3700; they'll be here tomorrow. if any of you run into my landlord, tell him the check is in the mail:deviltail

. . .and I'm looking forward to seeing whether I've just wasted a wholebunchaloot;)!

Also, stay tuned for a memory comparison review on this platform: the candidates will be TwinMOS, Buffalo, Corsair, and possibly Kingston, all in 512MB sticks (nobody seems to review these, right?).

Yep, my wallet is on fire; be ready for the fire-sale, lol.:deviltail

Holy smokes. You are NUTS buying all that stuff!! I would think you should be able to get a good combo out of it at least. Results should be interesting.

Hardware addicts, or hardcore overclockers. All same. :)
