i think i hit the sweet spot.

my idle temps @ 60.5° f ambient are 31-32°c. my load temps are 33-34°c ( mostly 33°c :D )! the thermal stuff i used is Shin-Etsu, i was using ceramique. no matter what i run or do to the machine, it wont go over 34°c... when temps are that close, you done something right.

one reason for this is the removal of the IHS: oo00oo00o scarry!

a rusty razor and 15 minutes got me 5° cooler @ load!

shiny shiny core... mmMMMmmMMM

just took my time, went from corner to corner and rocked the razor back and forth ( with pressure away from the pcb of the cpu ) until it cut through the black goop... and it popped of no prob... not before i bent some pins tho, about 5 in total

totally worth my effort, as long as i dont crush the core now... :stop:

I noticed that my temps only dropped 1-2'c but the ramp up and down was much faster with it removed...

good job!

thanks... its the cascade waterblock that keeps it down like this. the removed IHS helps a lot, but...

i'll be trying to hit some higher mhz with this mod. might make a diff on the cpu to have such a stable temp atmosphere... its still amazing to me that at full load, my temps only go up a ° or 2... woulda done this sooner!
