I have herd a few rumblings around the net about this board, definitely something to look in to
Interesting, I know their video cards have got good reviews, maybe their motherboards can run with the big dogs too.
Competition is good!!

I hear PiLsY has one and will do a review..

The Albatron 845PE board rocked! I bet they put out a good 865PE as well.

Dunno Tony...
Broke the pin on the mobile and I still cant get a post from it. It does clock fine between 167 and 200 with both A and B type cpus though, so thats a mark in its favour. Ive emailed Albatron about the mobile, but im expecting a standard "cpu not listed as being supported" response from them.

I agree with oldfart....the albatron p4 boards have been rocking for awhile now....
I think the real interesting one may be just the pro version which is rumored to be in the low 100's range......It could be the budget ocer board!!!!

Evan Lieb did a rather favorable review on the PX865PE board on Anandtech...

I read that and am basing my interest on that...I would however like to see the pro version only board tested to truly see if it is the bang for the buck ocing board....

Well, mines been sent back....
Couldnt get the mobile to post in it period. Their tech support was completely unhelpful (I got my standard unsupported cpu response). I also had HUGE problems getting the memory dividers to work (needed to set the memory divider and clear cmos for it to work?!).
From what ive been hearing from macci its one of the slowest springdale boards. Hes been unable to get it over 268mhz under any conditions stable.
Personally id avoid it. Youd be much better off getting an IC7 or P4P800.

Bummer. I wonder if the greatness of the Albatron 845PE was just a fluke???

Most likely it's just a bios issue. Seems none of the C-Wood/S-Dale boards have been too overly impressive right outta the box.

The detail that bothered me was that evan mentioned a rather paltry 1.6V Vcore limit and the fact that it undervolted as well. Hope it's soon remedied by a BIOS fix.

Yes that bothered me a bit too...Seems like albatron was taking a step back from being a real overclocker's dream board......
There is a new beta bios that enables PAT..im still trying to grab it so at the mo don't come after me for it.

i have this board and it's great unfortunately the only thing holding it back is
from 1.02 beta bios
1. vcore max at 1.6v undervolts to 1.52v according MBM5
2. some memory can't do 5:4 or 3:2 without changing OC Stability DDRAM setting in Advanced Chipset menu in bios from Standard to Optimised - which in turns sees a 300-400MB/s drop in sandra buffered benchies and similar amount of drop in pcmark2002 memory benchies
memory that needs set to Optimised when using async
2x 256MB Geil PC3500 Ultra dual channel
2x 256MB OCZ PC3700 Gold
2x 512MB XMS3500C2
memory that can handle Standard setting with async
4x 256MB OCZ PC3500 Premier (2 sticks were faulty still being confirmed by vendor)
