I got my 9700 Pro version 1.1 about a year ago and aside from a few intermittent problems at first that I later learned were specific to the Granite Bay mother board I had at the time, the card has performed flawlessly. I don't overclock the card or the computer it's currently in.
During the last two weeks on two occasions I have booted my computer and I get 4-6 beeps and a red text screen telling me the card isn't plugged in to a secondary power source. I run the card on a seperate rail that's not Y'ed off of a hard drive, as a matter of fact there's no other device attached to any connection on that rail.
On both occasions I have simply unplugged the secondary power connector and plugged it back in and the system boots as it should. MBM and BIOS show all the voltages to be completely stable at the state levels or even slightly higher with little variance. See attached screen shot. BIOS shows somewhat less but still slightly (+3%-5%)overvolted, which is an Asus board trait
I'm runnning:
P4C800-E Deluxe Revision 1.2
2.8 P4 C
1 Gig of Mushkin PC3500 Level 2
Enermax 550 watt PS
Any Ideas?
BTW...Lost a WD1000JB drive on this system a week ago and have replaced it with the same model drive I got from RMA.
