View Full Version : New 3500Gold from OCZ
Bit of blatent pimpage but im sure Mikki won't mind :)
New 3500Gold using OCZ branded IC's.This ram will do 2-2-3-5 at 2.6v on the IC7 with street racer, enhanced refresh and CPC enabled.I maxed my retail modules at 240fsb 1:1 2.5-3-3-7 with turbo, enhanced and CPC enabled. These are all 3d and prime stable, the ram will bench higher with errors.
A few sandra's to show what i achieved.

Best part is these modules are going to be quite cheap, hopefully cheaper than the main competitions ;) 3200.
Remember results will vary board to board...My IC7 clocked much better than my Max3..keep this in mind.

Can this RAM handle 2-2-2-6 timings or is that just to tight for it and how far could you oc it with 2-2-3-6 timings??
Also are you guys gonna test it on the 8KNXP, coz i'd like some new RAM which likes running in the 5:4 ratio

please double check the vdimm in windows.
when enabling any GAT, (turbo / racer / f1) the IC7 automaticly uses 2.7v by default.
not a bad pair of sticks you got there ;)
I checked in bios Thugs and it showed 2.65V..if its showing after bios in windows i wouldn't know as i never load MBM as the rigs are never really up that long.

The absolute tightest it will do is what i posted. Ras to Cas at 2 is hard to achieve with only the old Bh6 and Bh5 modules being able to handle it.
If you check my bandwidth you will see its pretty much on a par with ram running 2-2-2-5 anyway.

yea i know, the bios lies.
take my word on it, GAT sets 2.7v vdimm minimum ;)
on my system 2.6v (no GAT) shows as 2.6v in bios and 2.6v in aida32 and WHM.
turn on a GAT setting, and the 2.6v setting becomes 2.68v in bios and 2.7v in aida32 and WHM.
so actually you were running 2.7v with GAT enabled.
HTH :-)
Sounds good to me..2.7v is still pretty low.

yes 2.7v is still very good.
it might still be able to run at a lower vdimm, but the only way to run that way (on an IC7) would be to use NBS667 and no GAT ~ im not sure thats even possible on a C chip tho
(NBS667 no GAT = NBS800 GAT turbo)
its good to see OCZ bringing down those cas settings :chit:
I spent 8hrs messing and that was the fastest setting.667 strap does work occasionally but i found the tweaks i used above are usually faster.

yea i didnt think the NBS667 would be too happy running much past 200fsb.
i use the NBS800 myself even tho im below 200fsb.
youd think Abit would "lock out" certain bios options depending on FSB cause some options werent meant to run at all FSB speeds by design.
keeps life interesting i guess
any idea on when these will be available?
Thet are shipping now im told.

Tony, why is it that on the OCZ site the Gold pc3500 are rated at 2.5,3,3,7 timings? Is OCZ just being cautious again? or is it that not all of these modules will perform as yours have in your review here?

OCZ PC3500 Gold rated at 217mhz 2.5-3-3-7 2.6v
testing for me so far on P4C800-E 2.65v vdimm the memory can do to 239mhz 2.5-3-3-7 at 2.65v 1:1 and also handle @201mhz 2-2-3-5 at 2.65v (haven't tried higher)
memory pile is pretty high but OCZ PC4000 Gold are borrowed from a friend who wants them back next week - gotta hurry to finish OCZ PC4000 Gold testing then before i can play more with OCZ PC3500 Gold :o I can't bring myself to buy some OCZ PC4000 Gold as they're AUD$850+ in OZ considering a Vapochill PE unit is only AUD$999 heh
got some old pics here of some of the memory http://www.fileshosts.com/pentium4/D1/epox/4pca3+/board2/web/index2.html :)

You will find all memory manufacturers are being cautious now especially when it involves ram for i875 and i865 boards.I had good results with the IC7 and im now testing with the p4P800D.
I will post 1:1 findings soon.

Not all BH-5 can do 2-2-2-5. My corsair pc3500 is not absolutely stable with these timings on my P4C800, regardless vdimm. Ara these ocz pc3500 based on CH-5 chips?

Is 239mhz 2.5-3-3-7 the absolute max u can go regardless vdimm? haven't tested the highest 2-2-3-5 yet but yes 239mhz is max regardless of vdimm under 2.85v at 2.5-3-3-7 i believe pilsy's tests show an extra 8-9mhz witj 3.18v vdimm for 247-248mhz
