Just got a new UPS as my 500VA/300W ones aren't handling the power loads of OC'd systems and was surprised by an unexpected feature of this UPS = external battery pack support :)
APC BACKUPS RS 1500VA/865W

What surprised me with this unit apart from it being pretty light weight for it's capacity, is that at the top of the back of the unit, there is a horizontal connector socket for an external battery BR24BP to extend the unit by 200%
on the box it says
LCD mon
Unit alone = 85min
Unit + external battery = 275min
17" CRT mon
Unit alone = 60min
Unit + external battery = 190min
Now no where in the specs on APC web site for RS 1500VA, or feature description do they mention external battery support and on APC product page for this unit the Options link doesn't mention BR24BP external battery pack
