View Full Version : How do I reset my OCZ PSU?

I've got my PC plugged into a power strip and every time I unplug it or flip the switch to change my hardware or tinker around inside it my power supply doesn't want to power the computer. The HDD power light just flashes on my case and the CPU is detected and then isn't, is, then isn't, and it doesn't come back on. If I unplug it for a while (couple hours) then plug it back in it will start up fine. I assume the PSU is just resetting itself. If I'm right, is there a faster, easier way to do this? Does anybody know the approximate time it needs to be unplugged/turned off?

Hi! Welcome to the Bleedinedge. :welcome:

Frist time posters often get confused. The OCZ support forums are here:http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=45

As for resting itself. When you say "...plugged into a power strip and every time I unplug it or flip the switch..."

Do you mean the power strip switch? Or the On/Off switch on the back of the PSU? When you say unplug it do you mean the power strip or the PSU? You should always turn the PSU off before unpluging it our the power strip it is feeding form.

The only way I know to reset any PSU is to turn it off and unplug it for how ever long it takes to reset.

If that doesn't answer your question then it would be best if follow the link and post your problem in the appropriate forum.

I'm talking about unplugging/turning off the power supply first. Thanks for telling me about the forums.
