Yes I am still on modem - please don't laugh too hard.
I was having troubles with my connection so I updated teh drivers just in case. Well the update reset everything. So now I get to hear the wonderful dial-out and conenction beeps and squaks.
I know there are two places to turn off the sound and you have to set both. The first is through the device manager but for the life of me I cannot remember how to access the second setting.
Can any of you out there recall modem settings and where the sound can be turned off outside of the device manager?
Thanks
 Damn, We need a fund for the Snafu Broadband connection. ;) . There should be a setting in the Modem configuration in Control Panel to Mute it. similar to the Ex. below. . . . . .

The second one's located inside your connection settings.
Start -> Settings -> Network Connections -> Your dial-up connection name.
Select properties and then press configure ( under your modems name )
See pick for details :D

Awesome - dr_hardware got it  Thanks so much. I knew it was somewhere weird. You get my vote for MOTM.
Sorry Hawk. That was the first one I found.
Now all we have to do is laydown about 10 miles of cable and I can access DSL. Similar to highways, if you donate I will name a section of the cable after you
