I'm going to get a new system after all these years with DELL and Gateway and need some advice (not from resellers but from real users!!).

I am interested in any comments about what I am getting. I don't game or overclock but I want a qualty fast system. I do some video editing and photo editing and software development for physicians. The rest of the time I mainly surf and ocassionally download fairly large files. Maybe some of the components I choose might be overdoing it. All comments appreciated. Will I notice any speed difference by using SATA drives. For what I do is the 2.8 CPU OK or is it not justafied for what I am using it for?

I am using a PII 400 MHZ system now with 256mb of memory so whatever I get will seem like warp speed comparatively.

Lian-LI 60H1S Case
P4 800FSB 2.8GHZ CPU
ASUS P4C800E-Deluxe MB
Corsair TWINX1024 3200LL memory
Zalman CNPS7000A cooler
ANTEC TRUEPOWER 480W power supply
2 WD CAVIAR SE 120GB SATA hard drives
Sapphire Radeon 9600 PRO 128mb video card
LG 52X EIDE CD-ROM Drive
MS WIndows XP home Ed.

My monitor will probably be a Mitsubishi DP930-SB 19"er. I have a WD EIDE hard drive I will add as well as a EIDE ZIP Drive I will add later.

Thanks for any comments you care to makie.

Thats a nice rig, I like the case!

I dont know about the cooler though, lots of folks like the SLK900u and the new Swiftech one.

Everything else looks good, maybe a CDRW instead of CDRom?

Should be a nice and fast system!

Top quality choices. That'll be a great rig!

The Zalman 7000 is a great HSF too. Cools great and is quiet.
