Does anyone have this problem? My Enermax is the EG701AX-VE which is ATX 2.0. The noise seems to come and go although it's more often there than not. I have no idea what causes this and I'm pretty sure it's not the fans because when I shut down the computer, the PSU fans still run for a bit and there is no sound at all. I've read somewhere about PSUs making that buzzing noise when used with Seagate HDDs (from SilentPCReview). What gives?

With my enermax 470 its fans still run after shut down but the CPU fan stops right away. SO it might be your fans. Is the buzzing load dependent?
I have heard of buzzing problems with PSUs. In the ones I read (google) they opened up the PSU and found the culprit (one component was buzzing) and added a dab of hot glue and it seemed to stop the noise. IMO I am a little leery of opening a PSU - too much chance for a good jolt and voids warranty. I woudl probably send it back for RMA if you could.

The buzzing is not load dependent unfortunately. That's why I don't think it's the CPU fan. At the times when there is no sound, I play around with the CPU fan speeds and rev them up quite high to see if there's any buzzing noise but there is none.

Ok. I noticed something wierd. There's no noise when the PSU is under load! The noise is only there when it's completely idle, although at times it's silent when idle as well. Any ideas?
