The left click switch on my Logitech optical Trackball has just started giving me an unwanted "double click" when I press it once. It doesn't do it all the time. "Just" 20 percent of the time which is enough for extreme aggravation with it.

Can I fix it? Is there a cleaning spray to spray into the switch from the outside that would do it? Do I need to disassemble it to clean the switch? Is the switch worn out? Is the switch repairable? Has anyone else had this problem?

Buy a can of compressed air and blow the hell out of it (enough snickering people)...if that doesnt help then yeah, take it apart and look at it and clean it, but only do so if you know that you can put it back together again.

Taking it apart is your best bet. Either the switch has dust that can be blown out, or a touchpad that is dirty. Alcohol will clean it like new.
